WordPress 3.4 was just released two weeks ago, there’s a security release immediately available.
The release is not just security, but a few feature fixes as well. Here are the details provided by Andrew Nacin.
- Fixes an issue where a theme’s page templates were sometimes not detected.
- Addresses problems with some category permalink structures.
- Better handling for plugins or themes loading JavaScript incorrectly.
- Adds early support for uploading images on iOS 6 devices.
- Allows for a technique commonly used by plugins to detect a network-wide activation.
- Better compatibility with servers running certain versions of PHP (5.2.4, 5.4) or with uncommon setups (safe mode, open_basedir), which had caused warnings or in some cases prevented emails from being sent.
Needless to say, update as soon as you can. Happy Pressing :)

Yup, you can find more specifics on the security related items here: http://blog.sucuri.net/2012/06/wordpress-update-3-3-3-and-3-4-1-patches-released.html
Already updated and it’s quite irritating at time to update blog back to back.. Specially when you need to re-edit some code files for ex: Thumbnail for partial feeds :|
Why are you editing core code? that’s always a bad thing to do. Always, ALWAYS, use a plugin for something like that.
Ever since installing this latest release 3.1.4 we are getting a lot of issues and emails regarding wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php.
I meant 3.4.1
I doubt it’s specific to anything in just the 3.4.1 release. Are you using cPanel? I know cPanel often sends out alerts for potential php mail “scripts” that applications use, like WordPress. They’re completely safe, but cPanel often freaks out about them.
