Pressgram: A WordPress Alternative to Instagram

John Saddington, of 8BIT and WPDaily, announced today his [new] Kickstarter project to create an app that will allow people to add filtered images directly onto their WordPress site.

So why yet another [insert most recent app name]_gram app? Why one specific to WordPress?

John details out why he wants to build this:

The app is not 100% just for WordPress, you can also use the app as a stand along image-filtering app, that isn’t bound by the Terms and Conditions of say, Instagram.

The endeavor seems like a big one, but one that I think John can take on. His success so far with WPDaily and 8BIT has proven that he knows what he’s doing, especially with WordPress.

John is trying to raise $50,000 to build the app. Whoa, that’s a lot of cash to build the app. Maybe not. John breaks down how the money would be spent.
