Network Status Updates for WordPress.org

Andrew Nacin reported that this morning, WordPress.org and some of its database clusters, had some data corruption issues and the WordPress.org support forums were taken offline.

In an effort to keep the community up to date and be transparent, Andrew and the team have setup http://status.wordpress.org which is just a blog on WordPress.com to help keep you up to date.

What’s really impressive to me is the response time. The WordPress.org team noticed issues at 8:43am EDT and the issues were fully resolved by 10:01am EDT, just over an hour.

Something to note, the WordPress.org network of sites is not running on the same infrastructure that WordPress.com does. They keep them separate for a reason.

I just hope that Nacin’s call didn’t go anything like this video (the video is slightly NSFW).
